Finding a job as a junior engineer nowadays is hard, very hard. As I have talked about before, junior engineers are almost always prone to the vicious cycle of “I want work experience, but employers aren’t willing to give me a chance to get that initial work experience without having prior work experience already.” I work with thousands of junior engineers building Tech Career Growth Community with my friend Rahul Pandey, and I have now seen first-hand there is a lot of confusion around how to best approach job seeking as a junior engineer. This situation is unfortunately worsened by the barrage of bad advice out there when it comes to the job search.

I wanted to write an article about how to effectively apply to jobs in general, but there are a lot of factors that make applying to jobs as a junior engineer unique. In particular, I will focus on those who are struggling to find their first developer role. Anyways, let’s dive right into it!
